The anniversary connects Europe!

From all of Europe - from Damascus to Cork, and Lisbon to Riga - the participants traveled to the Council of Constance to solve the three tasks posed by the Church itself. They solved only one by ending the Western Schism with the election of Pope Martin V in 1417 in Constance. Necessary reforms were postponed. The death sentences against Jan Hus and Jerome of Prague are among the triggers of the Hussite Wars that unsettled Europe in the 15th century.

In addition to the theological aspects, the political process played an important role. Far-reaching decisions were made that shape Europe today. At the same time, the city developed into a hub of knowledge and a melting pot of cultures. The international anniversary program connects to this aand enlivens the cultural exchange again.
